New Stem Cell Patent Approved

The article over at New Patent for Ewart Brown says it all.  To summarize, Stemedica company received a U.S. patent in the use of stem cell wound healing which mimics human skin to enhance the healing of burns and wounds.  Wound care products is over a ten billion dollar industry and this puts Stemedica in the front lines with their intellectual property.

The scientists and officers of the company explain the patent approved process:  It combines mesenchymal stem cells or neural stem cells with fibroblasts to treat a wide spectrum of wound pathology ranging from inflammation suppression to promoting angiogenesis.  This process utilizes a type of scaffolding using specially formulated ischemic tolerant stem cells.  Their facilities also provide Cat Scans to monitor healing results.
